Tree House Hammock Tent
Everyone loves a tree house and Tensile tents have come out with a range of tree house tents suitable for use not only in the forest, but pretty much anywhere. These hammock tents are strung between trees and allow campers to sleep suspended off the ground, making the tents great for sloped locations or areas where sleeping off the ground is a good option.
Currently available in 2 person, 3-4 person and 5-8 versions these tree house tents also include a covered porch and sitting area. The light weight construction makes these tents suitable for hiking – the two man model weighs in at 5-8 kgs. The tent construction is high quality and hand made.
By using tension instead of poles to maintain the structure it allows campers to sleep in a comfortable enclosed hammock.
Being suspended above the ground removes the camper from predators, cold ground, snow and potential flood risk making this hammock tent suitable for locations the world over. Water logged or rocky ground is not a factor in choosing a campsite with these tents.
For areas that don’t have many trees there’s a framework in the concept stage that will allow the hammock tent to be pitched above ground in sloping or rocky situations.
Some of the tent designs have a removable top panel allowing for extra airflow and a view of the night sky while you lay suspended between trees.
These tensile tents are so cool you might want to string one up in your backyard as a temporary tree house…. Check out more information on the Tensile website .
