When placed in the sun, this giant mirror, called the Fresnel Lens acts as a giant magnifying glass concentrating sunlight to a small area. It can cause wood to instantly catch on fire and water to boil in less than a minute. While not the most convenient alternative to other energy sources, it’s a clear demonstration of the extraordinary power of the sun.
